 The Madras West Round Table 10 (MWRT10) brought together over 1000 special children from across Chennai today at the ICF Indoor Stadium for the highly anticipated ‘Unified Special Carnival 2024’. Started in  1996, this annual event, now in its 28th year, received a significant boost with the presence of Sudha Shah, former captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, who graced the occasion with her inspiring presence.
Sudha Shah, known for her leadership both on and off the field, inaugurated the festivities amidst cheers and applause from attendees. Her involvement underscored the importance of inclusivity and empowerment, themes that resonate deeply with MWRT10’s mission of ‘Service Through Fellowship’. The ICF Indoor Stadium, chosen for its spaciousness and accessibility, provided an ideal venue for a day filled with carnival games, music, delicious food, and spirited football matches tailored for the children.
MWRT10, a prominent member of Round Table India, has dedicated decades to organizing Community service Projects, spreading Education via its long-term project ‘Freedom Through Education’ and its recently inaugurated Phase II of the Dialysis centre in Porur.
These initiatives enrich the lives of special children, education deprived Children and people ailing with health conditions. The Unified Special Carnival has become a hallmark of their commitment to community service, offering a platform for social integration, creating memorable experiences for all
Speaking about Sudha Shah’s role in the event, MWRT10 Chairman Tr. Vinoo expressed gratitude for her support in making USC 2024 a remarkable success. “Sudha Shah’s presence has been truly inspiring for everyone involved. Her dedication to inclusivity and her passion for empowering young individuals have left an indelible mark on this carnival,” they remarked.
While Tr. Akul, Vice Chairman highlighted the six months plus effort put in to organise this event, Secretary Akshay and event convener Tr. Varun and many other supporting hands such as Tr. Dushyant, Tr. Kunal and National Connect Convener Tr. Vikash Nahar show the determination of young men coming together for the betterment of the society.
